Application and operating conditions
Enquiries for a wedge wire screen for sale, a replacement element or a complete assembly are reviewed by an engineer. A full specification is not required at this stage: a clear description of the process and the key dimensions are sufficient to begin.
For a replacement, a photograph, a drawing or the part number of the present screen shortens the review considerably.
What to include for a wedge wire screen price
- Application: the equipment and the function of the screen, for example DM plant laterals, a lauter tun false bottom or a tube well screen
- Retention: the media, solids or particle size to retain, or the slot in use today
- Flow and pressure: flow rate, allowable pressure drop, and operating and upset pressure
- Conditions: fluid, temperature, chlorides and pH
- Size: diameter or panel size, length, end connections and any manway limit
- Material: a preferred grade, or the operating conditions so that one can be recommended
- Quantity and documents: the number required and any inspection or document requirements
Any figure that is not known can be left blank. Each item is explained in the RFQ checklist, and slot options can be compared in the open area calculator.
Enquiry to order
1. Engineering review. Every enquiry is read by an engineer, who checks the information against the application.
2. Engineers connect within a working day. The reply is either a quotation or a short list of questions. Where a specified parameter carries a risk for the application, this is stated.
3. Design confirmation. For custom screens, slot, profile wire, support rod, flow configuration and material are confirmed, with CFD for pressure drop and FEA for structure where the design requires them.
4. Drawing approval. On order, a general arrangement drawing is issued for approval before manufacture.
5. Manufacture and dispatch. The screen is welded, fabricated and inspected at our Butibori works and dispatched with its Mill Test Certificate.
The full method is described under custom engineering.
