50 micron to mm: 0.05 mm
50 microns is 0.05 mm, or 0.00197 inch. As a sieve opening it is about 288 mesh on the ASTM E11 series. For a wedge wire screen, specify it directly as a 50 micron (0.05 mm) slot.

Equivalent wedge wire slot: 50 micron (0.05 mm)
Wedge wire is specified by its slot directly, so a wedge wire screen has no mesh count. Quote the slot in mm or microns.
Your inputs and results go into the quote form, so an engineer can check them against your operating conditions.

What passes a 50 micron opening
As a general reference on the Wentworth grade scale, particles smaller than 50 µm pass: clay. Real separation also depends on particle shape, the screen's open area and how the screen is loaded.
The wedge wire equivalent
A wedge wire screen is specified by its slot, so the equivalent is a 50 micron (0.05 mm) slot. Because the V-shaped wire widens behind the slot, particles that pass the face do not wedge in it. See mesh to micron and slot size and how to choose slot and open area.
